Why Hubpages Are Great

I'm not an internet guru, I won't pretend to be one. I'm your average mom, trying to find a niche in the online community. I've been online, searching, tweaking, trying for the past 2 years.

So, why do I think HubPages are great? I heard about this community about 1 year ago. Contemplated a few days between making my mark on Hubpages vs Squidoo lens. I chose the later after much contemplation.

Nope. I do not make money on Squidoo. After making my first 2 lenses and getting absolutely no traffic I quit. After 1 year, I've only gotten 7 views. Very pitiful. I actually have a Site Build It site for the same keyword I used on my Squidoo lens, hoping to save myself money (Site Build It can be pricey, but worth it), and got no traffic.

CONGRATULATIONS to myself. I now make $35 a month on adsense. And just started earning commissions from my MLM site (yes, surprised me too, never thought I could). BTW, my site build it site is the one generating $35 a day on adsense.

Hubpages vs Site Sell Site Build It

Hubpages vs Site Sell Site Build It-

  1. The Similarities-
  • Building Block web design technique
  • SEO friendly platform
  • Keep It Simple Layout
  • Forum (other members) Access to Knowledge Base
  • Blog Like Features
  • Says that Google and other Search Engines Love them
  • Ability to Track Traffic
  • Ability to easily ad monetization

2.   The Differences-

  • Site Sell Cost Money- Hub Pages are Free
  • HP has wonderful Drag & Drop Features
  • The Community at HP is Immediately There (that's great when you want to interact quickly, I don't feel all alone, building this little site in the middle of cyber space trying to compete for the same keywords as the universe, that's what I feel like  when I'm building a little blog or website that has not yet been indexed)
  • HP is indexed already.

MY SUMMARY-  I like Site Build It because it taught me a lot about SEO with their Day to Day videos.  Wish it was more quick & straight to the point.

HP is cheaper to build and you don't feel alone in the cyper space galaxy when  you build your content.

To Blog or Not to Blog

HubPages vs Squidoo Lens

It's more out of preference really. I felt like Squidoo lens had way too many gadgets and widgets that distracted me from doing real work. I felt like looking at this thing and that and was easily disconnected with my work.

I like the HubPage platform. Simple, box building structure. Takes a little getting used to, but I am used to writing this way because I can see the layout of my website a bit easier, in my minds view, using the box web building structure.

I feel like the community is easier to get in contact with because there are relevant questions next to your hub and similar hubs for me to look at and get ideas on what a great hub should look like.

I don't feel alone, thinking the same questions, others are or have already asked for me.  All I have to do is participate in the discussion and vavoom, you've got your answer.

Fluttering Mind (Entrepreneur) Dream Come True

This place is a dream come true for people like me. Now I get to write about all the stuff that goes into my mind in a day. All the ideas I dream up, all the things I would love to say and think out loud I can do it here and be heard.

I don't have to go about creating a blog site, no one will probably ever visit and say stuff no one will ever comment on.

HP is the easiest way to write the thoughts of your heart and mind and share them instantly with a community that will actually read or comment on it. Imagine writing a blog no one will ever visit. What a waste.

I feel as if now, i can get all my thoughts out into one place without having to buy a new domain name for a new thought. Every new thought can become and new HubPage. Simple as that.

Really good Hub .. I'm new to Hub and still trying to get someone to give me a ballpark figure as to what they are making monthly if they have at least 100 Hubs????

Anyone care to share? And I really like the message in this Hub .. thanks for sharing.

I've looked at SBI for a couple of years, as I know they offer a good system (pricey yes, but you get what you pay for).

I agree Hubpages offers a far better deal though for the solo entrepreneur who markets across various niches. With any good website you need traffic and unless you have a tight niche with well grouped keywords, Google and the other search engines just won't touch you.

Hubpages lets you group articles together, cross link and optimize for SEO across various niches, enabling you to broaden your reach and attract a lot more prospects.

Get your HUBS well positioned and you'll enjoy some useful adsense income also from the content you put out there.

I have a Site Build It site. I break even on it. I use it for my PR 3 links back to my hubs. SBI is really excellent and they now offer a monthly payment option. I would be interested in exchanging links from that site of anyone else has a similar PR site.

Hi hoov45, I use the monthly option as well. I am currently monetizing the site with adsense and currently making about $90 a month. Took over 2 years. I should try to better monetize the site as I get over 2000 visitors a month on the site. Could be better, but I don't SEO well on that site. At least, not as detailed as it should be. Thanks for visiting my hub everyone.
